The reason why intelligent robots are called intelligent robots is that they have a fairly developed "brain". What plays a role in the brain is the central processing unit. This kind of computer has a direct connection with the person operating it. Most importantly, such a computer can perform actions arranged according to the purpose. That's why we say this kind of robot is a real robot, although their appearances may vary.

It can be divided into general robots and intelligent robots.

Intelligent robots

General robots refer to robots that do not have intelligence and only have general programming capabilities and operation functions.

There is no unified definition of intelligent robots worldwide. Most experts believe that intelligent robots should at least have the following three elements: First, the sensory element, used to recognize the surrounding environment state; second, the movement element, to make reactive actions to the outside world; third, the thinking element, according to the information obtained from the sensory element, to think about what kind of actions to take. The sensory element includes non - contact sensors that can sense vision, proximity, distance, etc., and contact sensors that can sense force, pressure, touch, etc. These elements are essentially equivalent to the five sense organs of a human being, such as the eyes, nose, and ears. Their functions can be realized by using electromechanical components such as cameras, image sensors, ultrasonic sensors, lasers, conductive rubber, piezoelectric elements, pneumatic elements, and travel switches. For the movement element, intelligent robots need a trackless moving mechanism to adapt to different geographical environments such as flat ground, steps, walls, stairs, and ramps. Their functions can be completed with the help of moving mechanisms such as wheels, tracks, feet, suction cups, and air cushions. During the movement process, real - time control of the moving mechanism is required. This control should not only include position control but also force control, mixed position - force control, and stretch ratio control. The thinking element of intelligent robots is the key among the three elements and is also an essential element that people want to endow robots with. The thinking element includes intellectual activities such as judgment, logical analysis, and understanding.
